Maggie's New House

The St. George Light House in Crescent City Harbor at low tide.

Lots of boats tied up in the harbor at Crescent City.   The big sea otters were out sunning on their little island perch but I ran out of battery power. . . well, I did take my camera ...

I wish our friend Maggie good luck in her new abode.  She bought herself a new house with a huge yard.   She is going to get a lot of exercise out mowing and trimming the apple trees.    Her new location is over by Ft. Dix and Earl Lake.  She has views from every window and horses and cows across the road to keep her company.

The former owner was very artistic as the colors within the home showed a variety as each wall was painted a different shade of her favorite colors.    There were bocks of cement with embedded marbles that made strange and wondrous yard art.  A fun project she must have done with her fellow artists.  This caught my eye, looks like a little dog curled up by the ramp leading into the house.   Pretty clever.

Maggie bought a new dining set which was delivered while we were there.    We brought Maggie a bottle of wine, a candle and a new tablecloth which was put to good use immediately.    The windows are all floor to ceiling and the views are wonderful.  The trees were filled with birds eating the small apples still on the trees.    Nature at work.   I think Maggie will be very happy in her new home.

She has a fireplace in her living room.

She has a kitchen with a nice long counter to work at.  All in all, we wish Maggie happiness in her new home.   Now comes the part that is work, boxing up all her 'stuff' only to have to un-box it on the other end.   Yeah, we agreed to help, she is going to need it.     Moving is exciting but a lot of hard work.

So today, the start of a new week and one closer to Christmas.    We had a beautiful two days in a row with bright sunshine and everyone seemed to be out and about.    We have some drivers that should give up their driving license before they kill themselves or others.   The attitude seems to be 'the road is mine, so get off my road';   'rules are made for others, but no ME' . . . you meet them every day as they pull out without looking, or ride your bumper.    It takes all kinds to make our world.     Courteous is a nice word and a good way to be.  It really doesn't hurt to practice it.   We have rules of the road for a good reason. So practice patience and perseverance and go about your new week with a smile in your eyes, and show the rest of the world how to do it; be a good example, with tolerance, patience, kindness and all those other attributes at the ready and it will make your week the best yet.    Hugs to all.
