A Walk With The Camera

We had some sunshine yesterday so I got out my camera and went for a walk around the block while I waited for my daughter Pat to pick me up for a ride out to see the waves at the Port.   This is the tea tree which is becoming a bush rather than a tree.  It is getting wide and woolly but will be tamed once I get some clippers in hand.

Things that go bump in the night.    This was the culprit that made a loud bang at two a.m. during the wild storm the other night.  Fact it was wild again last night but I moved the garbage can back to where it belongs.  I wasn't taken any chances of having garbage spread all over the driveway.

Our mail boxes.  Not a very long walk across the street . . . well, it does seem so when it is cold and rainy.

The weed garden in my neighbor's yard has grown much taller in all this rainy weather.   The wind has made it wild looking.

Around the corner is a canter berry bush which the birds love.   Pat has a tree of it in her back yard and it is fun to watch the birds visit it.

this is the new hotel going up at Lucky Seven, the Indian Casino seven miles down the road from us.   I think I own one of those rooms.

and we made it to the Port where the waves were coming in four and five at a time, high, huge, thunderous and a murky color.  The whales are going up north as we spotted a spout the other day.  It was too wild to see any but we kept looking just in case a tail waved.

With all the storms comes driftwood on the beaches and the Port was loaded from one end to the other.

This is moss growing on rocks on the sidewalk.   Really very pretty, a lovely shade of green.

So there you are, new and different pictures of the neighborhood and the Port.   All it took was sunshine and a trip out around the corner and then a ride through town.    There is a lot of traffic anymore.   It was surprising to see so many out and about as the roads are wet and the weathermen were warning of hydro-planing.   Most folks were driving carefully and no one seemed to be in a big hurry.   It was just nice to get out while the sun was shining.
December First, a new month and a busy one.    There is much to do to celebrate the birth of Christ.    Don't forget to say MERRY CHRISTMAS to one and all as you greet your fellow man.     It is not a 'holiday tree' but a CHRIST-mas tree so decorate it and don't forget the angel on top.    Get IN THE MOOD and sit quietly in the back of a church after you light a candle or two and listen to silence and rejuvenate . . . and sing or hum . . . "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas everywhere I go "  and make your weekend special, just like YOU.   Hugs to all.
